Jakarta International College

As August 17th approaches, Jakarta International College (JIC) is buzzing with excitement for Indonesia’s Independence Day! This year, we’re making the celebration extra special and inviting all our students to join in the fun.

On August 15th, JIC, as the University of Jakarta International (UNIJI)'s international program, hosted a lively Independence Day field day at Cattleya Park, right next to our Jakarta campus. The event was filled with traditional games that truly capture the spirit of this important holiday. We set up five classic games: ‘Tarik Tambang’ (Tug of War), ‘Balap Karung’ (Sack Race), ‘Balap Kelereng’ (Marble Race), ‘Lomba Bakiak’ (Wooden Sandal Race), and ‘Balloon Transfer’. Both our UNIJI students and international students got involved, eagerly competing for fun prizes and the thrill of victory.

The field day was a huge hit! Everyone had a blast playing the games, cheering each other on, and sharing lots of laughs. It was more than just a competition; it was a fantastic chance for students to connect, build teamwork, and celebrate the festive spirit of Independence Day together. Watching everyone come together, share stories, and enjoy these traditional games was truly heartwarming.

We’re deeply grateful to all the students who joined in and made the event so memorable. Your excitement and participation were key to the day’s success. We look forward to organizing more events that bring our community together and create even more fun experiences. Here’s to many more adventures and celebrations with you all!
