From October 7 to 9, 2024, Jakarta International College welcomed a new group of students to our campus, and we couldn’t be more excited! This is a great time for everyone involved, and we’re eager to start this journey together.
JIC orientation for the new Monash College Diploma and WMU program students went really well. We introduced them to what life is like at JIC, covering important rules and expectations to help them settle in. We wanted to not just share information but also inspire them to make the most of their time here.
The first day kicked off with welcoming remarks from our Marketing Director, Ms. Kiandra Putri Susanto, followed by an introduction from our Academic Director, Mrs. Fransisca Laij, and an academic orientation led by Mr. David Henderson, the MUFY Coordinator. During lunch, students and parents enjoyed performances from The Mavis, JIC and UNIJI music club, and Next Door Crew, JIC and Uniji dance clubs, which added a fun atmosphere to the day.
Throughout the orientation, various student clubs set up booths for new students to explore extracurricular activities and connect with others who share their interests. This was a great way to build community right from the start.
On the second day, Monash College Diploma students had the chance to meet with representatives from Monash University in Australia and Malaysia. This session was really valuable for both students and parents, as they learned what to expect while studying at Monash. The reps shared tips on preparing for life and academics in Australia, helping everyone feel more confident about their upcoming experience. Among those present were Ms. Stephanie Hah, the Student Recruitment Manager from Monash Business School, Mr. Robert Ciofi from the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and Ms. Christine Putri, the representative from Monash University Malaysia.
The third day was all about having fun! We organized a treasure hunt around the campus with five different games. It was a fantastic way for students to connect and enjoy themselves while building friendships. The winning team even received MAP vouchers, adding a little friendly competition to the mix.
We want to thank all the students and parents who joined us for these three days of orientation. Your enthusiasm really made the event special. We wish you all the best in your studies at JIC, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you soon!
