Jakarta International College

Jakarta International College (JIC) students have another reason to consider continuing their education at Monash University in Australia. For students enrolling in Semester 1, 2026, Monash University is offering offshore study grants worth up to A$8,000 — applied directly toward tuition fees.

What Is This Grant?

This is a study grant program from Monash University specifically for offshore graduates — students who completed a Monash University Foundation Year or Diploma through a Monash College partner institution, like JIC, and are planning to transfer to Monash University's campus in Australia.

The grant is not a scholarship in the traditional sense. You don't write a personal essay or compete in an interview. It's tied to your academic performance from your Foundation Year or Diploma program.

The A$8,000 is split across two semesters — A$4,000 per semester — and credited directly toward your tuition. That means less out-of-pocket cost from day one.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify, you need to check all four boxes:

  1. Meet Monash University's academic entry requirements and actually begin your studies in Semester 1, 2026. Deferring your studies makes you ineligible.
  2. Accept your offer from Monash University.
  3. Be enrolled on-campus in Australia — campus transfers and student exchange programs do not count.
  4. Achieve an overall score above 60% in your Foundation Year or Diploma program.

One important note: the program is limited and subject to change. It's reviewed annually, and there's no guarantee it will be renewed beyond Semester 1, 2026. If you're planning to apply, act early.

How to Apply

You don't need to submit a separate application for this grant. If you meet the academic entry requirements and hold a full offer letter to commence your degree at Monash University in Australia for Semester 1, 2026, you'll automatically be considered. Monash University will notify successful students directly.

A Long-Standing Partnership

JIC has been a Monash College partner for over 20 years. This means JIC graduates have a direct pathway to continue their bachelor's degree in Australia — spending their foundation year in Jakarta before transferring to Monash University's campus. The study grant is part of Monash's ongoing commitment to supporting students who take this route.

If you're a current JIC student targeting graduation and a Monash transfer, this grant effectively reduces the cost of your first year in Australia. At current exchange rates, A$8,000 is roughly IDR 84 million — a meaningful reduction in tuition costs.

Next Steps

  • Check your eligibility: Review your current Foundation Year or Diploma scores. You need above 60% overall.
  • Confirm your enrollment timeline: You must start in Semester 1, 2026 — deferring disqualifies you.
  • Contact JIC's academic advisors to confirm your transfer pathway and offer letter status.
  • Visit the official grant page at monash.edu/study-grants-offshore for the latest terms and conditions.
