Jakarta International College
Dear students and parents, In an attempt to help reducing the spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta, JIC Management is announcing that JIC will be delivering classes online starting Wednesday, 18 March 2020 so students can still continue their study from home with ample precaution concerning the situation. At this moment, we can confirm that there is no known positive or suspected cases of Corona virus found in JIC community. However, we are placing our utmost priority on the health of all members of our college community, hence the decision to switch the mode of teaching learning process in our campus. This is also in keeping with the government’s appeal to ‘socially-distanced’ ourselves whenever possible. As for the class schedule, we will be keeping the current schedule that we have so students have to be ready with a laptop/tablet to follow the class on time. The minimum requirement for the internet connection is 3 Mbps, using the account that students already use for Moodle. Further instructions regarding the required logistics for the online system will be announced to the students by end of business day, Monday, 16 March 2020. As for the period of this online teaching learning process, we will keep it in place until such time when the situation is considered conducive for in-class instruction. We will reevaluate the situation on 3 April and give further notice if we will reopen the campus on 6 April or continue with the online teaching learning mode. Thank you and stay safe everybody… Fransisca Laij Academic Director JIC
