These days, we are seeing more and more collaboration between luxury brands and streetwear brands. Some brands such as Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, and Christian Dior are famous for being luxury brands that target more mature customers and are also known for their quality products. With the rise of streetwear brands such as Supreme, Offwhite, and Comme Des Garcons, luxury brands are also starting to aim for younger generations. One of the efforts made by these brands is through collaboration with famous streetwear brands.
Today, we will talk about some of the most iconic collaborations between brands.
LOUIS VUITTON X SUPREME AND ADIDAS X PRADA
The world of Fashion was stirred up by the collaboration of 2 fashion brands that have different styles; the brand is Luis Vuitton (LV) and Supreme. LV comes from Paris, France, and generally, LV produces luxury goods such as bags, clothes, footwear. Meanwhile, Supreme comes from New York, United States, and Supreme usually creates streetwear, bags, clothes and equipment for playing Skate Board. According to an article from Kincir.com, "the idea for this collaboration came from Louis Vuitton's CEO, Michael Burke. Louis Vuitton's Art-Style Director, Kim Jones, explained that Burke was enthusiastic about collaborating with Supreme. According to him, Burke asked for suggestions on the idea of this collaboration and asked him to get in touch with Supreme founder James Jebbia so that Burke could speak directly about the idea". As we know, products from the collaboration between LV and Supreme are costly.
The collaboration of Luxury Brands is also carried out by Adidas and Prada. To celebrate Adidas' 50th anniversary, Adidas is working with a fashion brand from Italy. In this product collaboration, Adidas and Prada issued an all-white concept. They present sneakers and bags. What makes it interesting is that this collaboration will only have 700 pieces worldwide. According to Prada, the limited-edition set is meant to honour timeless silhouettes and the raw simplicity that gave both brands their name. Adidas and Prada make bags, and the bag is called the Bowling Bag, the bag is made of white leather and features the Prada and Adidas Originals logos.
The luxury brand collaboration above is exciting, where LV and Supreme made people surprised because they were considered to have different fashion styles. Adidas and Prada issued a very limited product. Even though these brands are 'luxury brands' and they are costly, many people are very interested and want to own these products.
collaboration between H&M and Giambattista Valli. Giambattista Valli is a fashion designer. He is famous for her expertise in making beautiful and luxurious dresses; he is also a favourite designer of well-known celebrities. The collaboration between Giambattista Valli and H&M produced 61 pieces for women and 53 pieces for men. This collection uses a genderless concept so that both men and women can use it. Famous celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, Bianca Brandolini, Chris Lee, and Ross Lynch were seen wearing the Giambattista Valli x H&M collection for the first time. Reportedly, some of the H&M x Giambattista Valli collections were sold out at selected H&M boutiques and online sites in just a few minutes.
Previously in 2015, H&M also collaborated with other designers, namely Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director for Balmain. Since its establishment in 1945, Balmain is a reasonably exclusive fashion house and does not create clothing for retailers. So, this collaboration is quite surprising. According to an article from fimela.com Olivier, Rousteing was invited to collaborate with H&M by telephone. For the latest collection, H&M collaborates with Balmain to create a fashion design that still has Balmain's trademark, but the price is quite affordable for H&M consumers. At the 2015 Billboard Music Award, Olivier Rousteing introduced the H&M x Balmain collection on the red carpet, Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn using the design of the product.
Collaboration in the fashion world is exciting, especially what H&M is doing, H&M collaborates with famous designers to make their products even more attractive. Not only that, even though they collaborate with renowned designers who often design clothes for top artists, H&M keeps the price of their clothes affordable. That's why when people saw the H&M collaboration with famous designers it was quite surprising
